Tall Tales

Tall Tales is a bi-monthly comedy night at The Good Ship in Kilburn. It’s been running since early 2010 as a forum for slightly non-standard projects. We have taken it to other places on (very short) tours.

Since then, Benet Brandreth’s brilliant monologues have been woven into a deft and hilarious Edinburgh show, which you would be crazy not to see if you’re going to be at the Fringe; various of John Finnemore’s curious tales will appear on his upcoming Radio 4 sketch show; Warhorses of Letters, a Napoleonic-era equine epistolary romance by Robert Hudson and Marie Phillips, has just been broadcast, starring Stephen Fry, Daniel Rigby and Tamsin Greig; and next year, Ian Leslie’s minutely researched collection of pieces written by great names Before They Were Famous (Hemingway’s terrifyingly robust agony column, Jilly Cooper’s breathless reports from the Falklands War) will also be on R4.

The next one in Kilburn is on Thursday January 26th. To book Kilburn tickets, email talltalesnight at gmail dot com. They’re a fiver, and the venue opens at 7.30. The show’s at eight.
